| The Dockriders were well represented. We also had Virgil and some members from Major Motion Cycling Club from Los Angeles. We also ran into Al Joseph and the Oakland YellowJackets again which was cool. George and his wife Dorothy rode tandem for her maiden journey. At the start we were all gearing up. It was still dark out, in midst you could hear the explosion of inner tubes coming from the parking lot. POW!, BOOM! from cyclists over pumping their tires. I counted at least 4 in a row! not including those cyclists who blew their tubes a second time. We faired a little better until we got on the road, then Tony got a flat! POW...PSSSSSS! actually he got a couple of them. but we saddled him up, and were on the road again ZOOOM! Our first stop was at Red Rock Valley. after a 20 mile climb, Carol was blurting expletives, but calmed down (After the ride) She didn't expect to be climbing so quickly. It was a long gradual climb, similar to rolling to Marineland nonstop. Then after that there was a 20 mile descent back into the valley. That was cool too. |
